Cults are observed so frequently in Western culture that the question should not simply be, "Is this group a cult?" but rather, "To what extent does cult behavior manifest itself?" One of the most effective ways to protect oneself from being ensnared by a cult is through an understanding of their characteristics. Cultish encourages individuals to assess their current relationships with any group or community by identifying up to 40 shared traits commonly associated with cults.
 
HOW TO USE THE APP:
<ul>
<li>To engage with Cultish, begin by entering the name of a group you wish to evaluate. (For optimal results, input a group you are currently affiliated with.) To analyze your selected group, indicate agreement or disagreement with the statements on each card by swiping left or right.</li>
</ul>
 
The final score is determined by the percentage of questions you answered in accordance with cult-like behaviors. You have the flexibility to adjust the number of distinct and well-researched cult characteristics in each evaluation, as well as customize the overall color scheme of the app. Take the quiz multiple times and evaluate any group you desire! Cultish does not store any information about your usage of the app or personal details. 
 
WHAT'S THE APP FOR?

<li>The potential for cult-like behavior can exist in various communities, such as large corporations, political organizations, academic institutions, social circles, professional bodies, entertainment venues, religious sects, identity-linked groups based on race, gender, age, income, surname, lifestyle, geographic location, ideology, your own peer associations, or even partnerships as small as two people. This application allows you to compare your interactions with these diverse groups against common cult tendencies.</li>
</ul>
 
Though the characteristics presented on each card have been meticulously researched and are frequently observed in cults spanning different eras and regions, human behavior's intricacies cannot be simplified into mere "yes" or "no" responses. Ultimately, this app is designed for entertainment purposes only. It may serve an educational function at best, triggering reflective moments or prompting a reassessment of your affiliations with certain groups. At the very least, Cultish could heighten your awareness of typical cult-like behaviors and assist you in better protecting yourself from similar groups as you strive for healthy interpersonal connections.
